Snowy Owl || Bubo scandiacus
The snowy owl is known by many names: the Arctic Owl, the Great White Owl, and Harfang. Found mainly in the circumpolar arctic regions, the snowy owl lives mainly north of 60 degrees latitude.
The conservation status of the snowy owl is “Least concern,” showing strong population numbers and a lack of human influence.
Adult males are almost completely white, while youngsters and females may have small amounts of black or dark greys in their feathers.
