Hannah - About me
Hey I’m Hannah! I’m about to start my university life by studying a degree in ecology and anthropology.

Ever since I was young I’ve been fascinated with nature - I still cherish my slightly tatty DK Nature Encyclopedia which I was given when I was little - especially having a love for animals. In recent years, my interest in the world around me has only increased. Living in New Zealand is a playground in a sense. We have such a broad range of beautiful bird species, amazingly lush forests and visible examples of how the Earth is still shaping itself such as regular earthquakes and active volcanoes.
Not only am I intrigued by the Earth and its contents, but also how us humans interact with our surroundings. We seem to disregard the hospitality of Earth - we slaughter animals, cut short the lives of trees, pollute the air and water, prevent the efficiency of geothermic systems… I aspire to ease humans’ impact and conserve what we have left of this amazing place we call home. Also, on the topic of humans, I like learning about the theories of how humans have evolved and distributed themselves. Us Homo sapiens may be a bit ignorant sometimes but we sure have an awesome past.
When Finn asked me to be part of his science blog, I saw it as a great way for me to express my interests, and at the same time learning new things and sharing with other science lovers. I hope to expand my mind as far as it is capable of.
